Google Launches Daily Deal Service

Google launched its new daily deal product today, with testing starting in Portland, and rolling out to New York, San Fransico and other cities over the summer months. Google Offers will integrate with Google’s new NFC-based payment system, Google Wallet. Purchased deals will be put into a user’s Google Wallet, where they are saved and ready to redeem. Groupon Partners with Expedia, Groupon Travel Goes Live

Groupon has partnered with travel giant Expedia to launch Groupon Getaways. With other deal sites like LivingSocial and TeamBuy entering the travel market, its no surprise that Groupon has followed suit. Travel deals on Groupon Getaways will likely be regional offers, not hyper local ones. According to TechCrunch’s internal source at Groupon, the new travel product could increase revenue by 40% once up and running full steam.
